Eleuthero Root is an apoptogenic root, meaning that it can help the body "adapt" more easily to stressful situations. This plant contains glycosides, naturally occurring compounds that initiate a minor stress response in the body. Many athletes take advantage of this effect, using eleuthero to help them, over time, get closer to their highest levels of endurance and stamina. Ginseng, another name for eleuthero, was featured prominently in the first great Chinese herbal guide, Pen Tsao Ching (The Classic of Herbs), where it was recommended for "enlightening the mind, increasing wisdom, and...longevity."

Eleuthero Root has adapted to the damp forests of the northwest United States, including California, Oregon, and Washington. We receive this herb dry and activate the many beneficial properties within the plant through our extraction process.
